CHIMERA
Attachment is our only hashtag.
Mordacious comment goes against
the limits of tradition, of belief.
We are impervious to panegyrics .
Your plan is nothing more than a chimera.
The fortune-tellers go back in a trice.
Is it the tapestry or the completion of trade?
We always ignore the brutal resonances.
We panegyrize the soldiers for their bravery.
Words slink or bite the unused syllables
Their accusations are not from deep thought.
What gets us to you is your wrapped sharpness
How do we ignore the argus-eyed supervisor?
We seek the right amount of fullness at the end.
STROLLING WORDS
Today morning, I drop a few words on the crest
of the old Planetarium, cornered by silence.
The black crows hover in the air, their hungry
shouts fill the chessboard of the city.
Somewhere the sparrows outsource their wishes,
noises and echoes pile up a mountain.
My memories get stuck at the four-point crossing
they cannot run away and escape anymore.
From our roof, I can see only grey clouds
and the old fishing boat on the lake.
In the darkened portico it always rains,
first a few drops and then in torrents.
In the evening I take back my words back home,
the stars shine bright over the graveyard.
OJALA *
the winds embrace between hanging doors
swinging and swaying
in the tranquilness, they bloom as art
imagine wherever
you are ensconced
by the afternoon beauty, the evening hush
curing the lesions of reminiscence
walking along
with myriad eyes
you look so lean, so vulnerable
thinking of birds who can’t sing
someone stands up every morning at your door
in the blossom of light
you don’t mind being a flower ready to be plucked.
* Ojala, a Spanish word for expressing hope.
